A Homeland Connection

Away from the shadow of the capitol building and the university tower, Café Del Sol prepares the food of a culture rich in flavor and tradition, in a neighborhood that understands its value. Drawing on generations of experience and recipes honed in family kitchens and neighborhood eateries, Café Del Sol embodies the authenticity of Mexico - with an emphasis on creativity, nutrition, and community.

A Moveable Fiesta

Nothing brings out the best in a kitchen like a celebration. Many of the dishes we serve are the same dishes that grace the tables of our weddings, quinceañeras, and weekend neighborhood parties. Our catering menu allows us to bring this rich, storied atmosphere to any event you have coming up. We provide a variety of options for any occasion and we’ll work with you to dream up the perfect menu.

Let us cater to your event’s needs.

Serving the Underserved

All proceeds from Café Del Sol benefit Southwest Key Program’s East Austin Children’s Promise, which serves more than 3,000 children and adults per year through its various programs including East Austin College Prep Academy, food bank, financial literacy, GED classes, Zumba, and other community activities in East Austin. Every day, the food from our kitchen directly impacts the lives of East Austin youth and their families.

Nourishing Community

Food and community are inseparable and at Café Del Sol we want to provide more than just full stomachs. Our fundraising program allows community members to raise money for their cause, school, church, or nonprofit. We partner with a new program every month to ensure that everyone gets an opportunity to share.

A Taste of the Tastiest

Eating is an experience that incorporates all the senses. Food should be just as wonderful to look at as it is to taste. Whether it’s handmade tortillas and caldo tlalpeño, or mole poblano with arroz, the freshness and attention to detail shines through.

Café Del Sol’s kitchen and community café is located within Southwest Key Program’s Centro de Familia in East Austin, off of Jain Ln. between Airport and 183.
